A lot of us waste a lot of time with the wrong man. I was with my ex for two years but I knew he wasn’t right for me in the first few months.

I saw a lot of red flags but I chose to ignore them hoping that he would change and finally be the man I saw in him.

I realized I was dating his potential. I wasn’t in love with him, I was in love with the “idea” of him. I kept saying to myself…”if only he would do this or that then it would be perfect.”

The reality was that he wasn’t ready, willing or able to be that man for me and I had to accept that.

I had to accept that he wasn’t right for me. I wasn’t getting what I needed from that relationship and it wasn’t his fault.

We spend too much time in the wrong relationship with the wrong people hoping for them to change.
